Seoul City Metro - Seoul, South Korean Subway Guide App Reviews

Its alright!

This app does what it should. It shows you the metro and lets you calculate routes. What I like is that it does everything offline. This way for sure you dont get actual departure / arrival times. It would be nice to have this as an additional feature. Compared to the free version the ads are gone an you can save routes. The price is acceptable. Annoying is a small bug in the map itself. On line 1 between yongsan and Seoul stn is the stop namyeong as well. Please correct that.

Awful

The map crashes every time you back and forward from the map.

Keeps on crashing!!

This is a joke crashes all the time want my money back! Dont buy ripoff!!

Excellent

An excellent, quick and intuitive map. Wouldnt go to Seoul without it!

Awesome

Great app! Would love to see an option to view the map as it is or as an offline scale map of Seoul (instead of using Google Maps, though that is awesome as a feature when a data connection is available). When traveling to Seoul, I turn off my roaming data connection on my phone so it would be great to view relative station positioning offline. The current map is like the ones used in the subways (which is great) but sometimes misleading. For example, Sinnonhyeon looks so be so far from Gangnam when it is really only a 5-10 minute walk between stations. Im not criticizing the app because it is the best of the Seoul Metro apps but I hope you look into my suggestion!

Unhappy

Ive become quite disenchanted with this app. The estimated trip times can be really far off, particularly when going to somewhere on the edge of the network. This app also has a lot less information (train times, door exit sides, and so much more) than other available apps, and Ive pretty well totally moved on to another app because of this.

Crashes

This app will not stop crashing. It also doesnt have a lot of features and none of the new lines. Try jihachul

User

This used to be a great app, but now it shuts down when Im trying to find a new route. Please fix the bugs!

Please update Seoul Subway Map.

On December 2010, some lines on Seoul Metropolitan Subway Systems have been opened and extended. Airport Line (AREX) has extended the section from Gimpo International Airport and Seoul Station. Gyeongchun Line has opened from Sangbong to Chuncheon through Mangu. Please add new information to the map.

Quite good

Drops often with iOS6 Surf could be better as you have to push back many time for main menu Great route track

Best Seoul Subway app so far...

In the week since the iPhone hit the streets of Seoul, Ive already tried a few different Seoul metro navigation apps. This is the best one Ive used so far. The map is up to date and easy to navigate. Right now you can find out what you need to know to get around the city: route information, travel times, and transfer points. Station names appear in Roman letters in a large, readable font. With this app, a newly arrived wayguk-in should be able to get from Oido to Yeoido without too much drama. While the information given is good, this app has a lot of potential for future enhancements. Future updates could give the times of the first and last trains from each station and maps of stations and the surrounding areas, including major landmarks and their corresponding exit numbers, just to name two.

A must for any tourist (or resident!) in Seoul

I am currently in Seoul vacationing and this app has been indispensable. I figured out the subway routes from Incheon airport to my hotel in the Dongdaemun area and plotted out and saved all the routes to my tourist destinations for the upcoming week. I can quickly refer to any routes because the data is saved locally and I can plot routes on the fly with the simple and effective interface. No data connection is needed ( I have a US based iPhone with no cell service in Korea). With additional updates (mainly having a built in search box at the main map screen) this app will only get better. A big kudos and thank you to the developers or this wonderful app. My travels have been so much easier because of it. This is the BEST metro app for Seoul, it is money well spent.

Easy to use!

Its easy to use, up to date and well worth the money. I used it all the time when I was visiting Seoul.

Real time information!

From the start map you can search from start to end. Providing station detail information, train arrival time, frequency of train, end destination. Oh so great. Well worth the work involved for this app. I travel throughout and used many different subway systems. Vancouver, LA, Tokyo, this by far is tops in all information needed.

Great App

Very intuitive Application. I loved being able to plan subway routes before we left and bookmark them for easy access on the go. The stops and transfers were correct. We went from Itaewon down to Seoul Grand Park and then hit a couple of markets all in one day and we never got lost or confused on the subways. Thanks

Improved version still could use some improvements...

I recently wrote a 1-star review. I now retract that review. The software people fixed the times. The transfers times of the station you arrive at are good but there is no way to get a general estimate of the you will actually arrive unless you break up the tranfers. There are a couple of express trains in the Seoul subway system and unfortunately the times are not highlighted/posted in the system. Overall the product is good and I would recommend to buy it the saved/previous routes are good to have for quick reference.

A foreigner essential

I cant ride the subway without this anymore. Now if I could only figure out where to go when I get off to transfer or exit the subway. A diagram of each of the stations would help a lot.

Handy app for travel

Overall the most useful Seoul metro app I found. Three areas to improve: 1. Indicate fares 2. Not all transfers suggested are possible with a single trip ticket. Notably the transfer at Noryangjin from line 1 to 9. Would be nice to have a setting to avoid this for people without a T-money card 3. No indication on schedule which trains are express trains. Would need to indicate which stops are skipped for these too

Not Good

Sorry to say this application is not good compared to the free subway map that is out there. It is also inaccurate with measuring the distance, in terms of time, between point A and B. an not very quick when trying to enter the subway stations because its was not setup to be very intuitive (for ex: you have to go out of the map screen to select two stations to measure distance). Also does not list when the next train will come or timetable of subway start and end time. And even though I PAID for the full version it doesnt even update itself with the latest information. Highly not recommend this application, simple in terms of information but not accurate.

Needs urgently to be updated

Even the new airport line from Incheon to Seoul Station, which is fully operational since December 2010 is not included!!! Not worth the money
